Why I Rebranded from Suni Creative Co. to Elizabeth Suni Creative Consulting

After 2.5 years of running this business, I’ve learned a lot—both about myself and the type of work I truly love. When I started Suni Creative Co., it was very much a spur-of-the-moment decision. (Read: zero real thought went into my branding or overall strategy.) My focus was external—what did people want me to help with—rather than internal—what value do I want to offer? What kind of work lights me up?

Initially, my vision was to grow a small marketing agency. The bulk of my work was social media content creation because it seemed like that was what everyone wanted help with. While the work was fun (and I consider myself good at it), it started to feel transactional. I’m a big-picture thinker and strategist, and I found myself questioning whether I was truly making an impact.

About six months ago, I started working with my amazing coach MJ who helped me dig deep into these questions. We worked on shifting my mindset from external motivations to intrinsic ones, uncovering what excites me and where I bring the most value. Through this process, I started reworking how I collaborate with current clients while also refocusing on the client work I want to prioritize moving forward.

What I learned? I’m a start-up girlie through and through. Helping entrepreneurs bring their business ideas to life is what fuels me, so that’s where I’m focusing: start-ups, strategic consulting, and marketing strategies for purpose-driven businesses.

Why the Rebrand?

As my business evolved, I knew my brand needed to evolve with it. It was time for something more mature, refined, and aligned with who I am now.

In the marketing industry—where it often feels like everyone is half my age—I realized I’d been trying to fit into a younger, trendier mould because I didn’t want to be seen as "too old for the job." But through this evolution, I embraced what actually sets me apart: my years of experience. My decade of working in leadership roles at a large corporation (focused on strategy, communications, marketing, and branding), combined with 8+ years of start-up and entrepreneurial experience, is what enables me to offer truly unique value to my clients.

So instead of trying to fit in to the industry, I decided to lean into my experience in order to disrupt the industry.

Visually, the result is a more mature and sophisticated brand. The name change reflects this shift as well—Elizabeth Suni Creative Consulting felt like the right fit. It’s more personal, more "me," and moves away from the team/agency feel of Suni Creative Co. Plus, after two and a half years, I was ready to stop correcting people who thought my name was "Suni" (Suh-nee)!

Building the New Website

The final piece of the rebrand was my website—something I approached very differently this time. Normally, I’m an instant gratification kind of person. I get an idea and jump right into execution. But this time, I spent weeks on strategy, key messaging, and copy. When it was time to build the site, everything was already well thought out and ready to go.

It was important to me that the new website feel as established as my professional experience. I didn’t rush the process because I wanted to come out of the gate with something that reflects not just my work, but who I am and the value I can offer.

Purpose-Driven Work, Always

One of the biggest lessons from this process is that I’m no longer interested in just checking boxes. If it’s not adding real value, if it’s not part of a bigger vision or strategy, it’s a no for me. I want to work on projects that feel purposeful, impactful, and aligned with my clients' long-term goals.
